As a patient-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit, GMCS was founded on the principle that those we serve have every right to know how we operate, how we spend donated funds, and who guides our decisions. We proactively publish our financial records, maintain affiliations with nationally recognized accountability organizations, and welcome questions from patients, donors, and the public. Transparency is not a compliance checkbox for us — it is a core expression of our values and our commitment to the Georgia medical cannabis community.

GMCS is a proud state affiliate of Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the nation's largest organization of patients, medical professionals, scientists, and concerned citizens promoting safe and legal access to cannabis for therapeutic use and research. Our ASA affiliation reflects our shared commitment to evidence-based advocacy, patient rights, and ethical organizational conduct.

As a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization, GMCS files an IRS Form 990 each year. These returns are public documents that detail our revenue, expenses, executive compensation, and program activities. GMCS is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community advocates. Our board provides strategic oversight, ensures fiduciary responsibility, and upholds our mission on behalf of Georgia's medical cannabis patients. Every dollar donated to GMCS is directed toward our core mission: improving the lives of Georgia medical cannabis patients. Our resources are allocated across three primary areas — patient education (workshops, guides, and multilingual outreach), policy advocacy (legislative monitoring, testimony, and coalition building), and patient navigation (helping individuals access the Low THC Oil Registry, find qualified physicians, and connect with dispensaries). We are committed to keeping administrative overhead low so that the majority of every contribution reaches patients directly.
