Georgia's medical cannabis dispensaries are licensed and regulated by the Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission (GMCC). Only patients and caregivers holding a valid Georgia Medical Cannabis Registry card may purchase products. You must present your registry card — physical or digital — at the point of sale.

How to Access a Dispensary

   Confirm Your Registry Card Is Active

   Your card must be valid and not expired. SB 220 extended card validity to 5 years for renewals. Check your card's expiration date before visiting.

   Bring a Valid Photo ID

   A government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport) is required alongside your registry card at every dispensary visit.

   Locate a Licensed Dispensary

   Use the GMCC's official dispensary locator at medicalcannabis.georgia.gov to find a licensed location near you. Only purchase from GMCC-licensed dispensaries.

   Consult With Dispensary Staff

   Licensed dispensary staff (patient care specialists) can help you understand available products, dosing options, and delivery methods appropriate for your condition.

   Keep Your Receipt

   Retain your purchase receipt as proof of lawful acquisition. This is important if you are ever questioned by law enforcement while in possession of your products.

Georgia's dispensaries are operated by licensees approved by the Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission. As of 2026, licensed operators include Trulieve, Botanical Sciences, Natures Medicine, and others. Dispensaries are located across the state — from metro Atlanta to Savannah, Augusta, Columbus, and beyond. Under SB 220, Georgia dispensaries may now offer an expanded range of medical cannabis product forms. Availability varies by dispensary.

• Low THC Oil (Tinctures)

  The original authorized form — cannabis oil with no more than 5% THC by weight, typically administered sublingually or orally.

• Capsules & Softgels

  Pre-measured oral doses for consistent, convenient administration.

• Topicals

  Creams, balms, and lotions applied directly to the skin for localized relief.

• Vaporizable Products

  Authorized under SB 220 for qualifying patients. Ask your certifying physician whether this form is appropriate for your condition.

A designated caregiver registered with the Georgia Medical Cannabis Registry may purchase and possess products on behalf of a registered patient. Caregivers must present their own valid caregiver registry card and a government-issued photo ID at the dispensary.
